Light weight silica bricks

The siliceous firebrick is a siliceous refractory product with more than 90% SiO2 content and a volume density less than 1.2g/cm³. The mineral composition of silicon fire brick is: phosphorus quartz 78% ~ 86%, quartzite 13% ~ 15%, quartz 4% ~ 7%. Siliceous heat insulation firebrick generally adopts crystalline quartzite or silica sand as raw material, and flammable substances are added to the ingredients, such as coke, anthracite, sawdust, carbonized rice husk or porous structure is formed by gas foaming method. The refractoriness and softening temperature under load are not much different from those of ordinary light silicon bricks with the same composition. But because there are many pores, so the compressive strength, slag resistance, corrosion resistance is not as good as the ordinary light silicon brick, and the thermal shock resistance has been improved.

General light silicon brick is divided into: first and second: first light silicon brick can be used for rolling steel heating furnace top and silicate industrial furnace top and other parts, can be directly in contact with the flame; Secondary lightweight silicon bricks are used for insulation in general industrial kilns.

Light silicon brick is mainly used in: coke oven, hot blast furnace, glass furnace, carbon furnace, etc.

It has excellent fire resistance, the load softening temperature is close to the compact light silicon brick 1620℃, there is a small residual expansion, and its thermal stability is better than the compact silicon brick. Therefore, light silicon brick can be used for a long time without contact with slag under high temperature conditions (1500-1550℃), suitable for large blast furnace supporting hot blast furnace lining, glass kiln gas insulation layer, etc.
