The magnesia brick is with high thermal crushing strength, good slag resistance, good corrosion resistance, stable volume under high temperature etc.
Magnesia bricks are with high refractoriness, great alkali slag resistance, high refractoriness under load, meanwhile the thermal shock resistance is low, so they are widely used as working lining or safety lining with stable temperature.
Generally there are sintered magnesia brick (also called magnesia fire brick) and chemical bonded magnesia brick (non-burnt magnesia brick). The magnesia brick with high purity and high sintering temperature is also called direct bonded magnesia brick because of direct-bonded periclase phase inside. Fused rebonded magnesia brick is made from fused magnesite. Magnesia fire bricks are made from sintered magnesite, products are produced with process material grinding- mixing-batching-shaping, and fired under temperature 1550-1650 ℃, sintering temperature for high purity products is over 1750℃. Non-burnt magnesia brick is made from fire magnesite with chemical bonding agent, production process is batching,shaping under high pressure and drying.
Applications
Magnesia bricks are widely used for basic oxygen steel converter, bottom and side wall of electric furnace, safety lining of oxygen converter, smelting furnaces of non-ferrous industry, high temperature tunnel kiln, working lining of rotary kiln for cement and dead burnt magnesite, bottom and side wall of heating furnace, chamber bricks for float glass furnace etc.
