High quality mullite insulation brick refractory castable is composed of high-strength mullite as aggregate, superfine powder and compound additives are added. It has the characteristics of high refractoriness, high strength, low thermal conductivity and low bulk density, which can reduce the thermal energy consumption of industrial furnaces and reduce the weight of the furnace lining. Among the high-temperature lightweight raw materials, the following raw materials can be used as raw materials for high-temperature lightweight castables used above 1200°C: porous clinker or scrap porous bricks such as mullite, corundum, high alumina, silica and magnesia material. Such castables can be directly used in the lining of atmosphere furnaces operating at 1350°C.
Mullite insulation bricksare high alumina bricks with mullite as main phase. Al2O3 content is generally 40-70%. Besides mullite, there is also small amount glass phase and cristobalite. The light weight mullite bricks could touch flames directly. They are widely used as working lining of high temperature industrial furnace.
According to different bulk density, there are light weight mullite insulation bricks and high density mullite insulation bricks. According to different service temperature, there are 1350 C, 1450 C, 1550 C mullite insulation bricks. 1550 C mullite insulation bricks are generally used as working linings of furnace because of high fire resistance.
Features
1. Low thermal conductivity, great thermal insulation performance
2. Low thermal capacity, good for intermittent production.
3. Low content impurities : Low Fe2O3 and alkali content, result to high refractoriness.
4. High thermal crushing strength, refractoriness could reach 1790℃. Refractoriness is 1450-1600 ℃.Cold crushing strength is 2-6 Mpa, thermal shock resistance is good.
5. Could be cut into special shapes, match different applications.
Mullite insulation bricks are widely used for cracking furnace, hot blast stove, ceramic rolling kilns, electric ceramic drawer kiln, glass crucible, working linings of various electric furnace etc. They are also used as roof of hot blast stove, body and bottom of blast furnace, chamber of glass furnace, ceramic sintering kiln, cracking system of petrochemical industry etc.
