Ladle shroud is also called long nozzle or protection nozzle,it is used to connect the ladle and tundish,to make molten steel flow stable,avoid the molten steel oxidation and splashing etc.
Ladle shrould is located under the ladle, it's importance tube to help molten steel flow from ladle to tundish, avoid oxidant and splashing so as to improve quality of steel billets.
Generally preheating to 1000 ℃to the ladle shroud is needed before casting, otherwise there will be cracks inside and performance is badly influenced. Recent years, roast-free ladle shroud are are developed.
Roast-free ladle shroud has good thermal shock resistance,good resistance to crush of molten steel, good resistance to slag erosion etc.
Types: There are alumina carbon type and silica type. Alumina carbon material ladle shroud are more widely used in recent years.
