Ladle Well Block is also well known as seating blocks. It's used at the bottom of Oxygen converter, Electric Arc Furnace, steel ladles and tundish.

Generally there are two type well blocks: ladle well blocks for purging plugs and well blocks for nozzles. Among well blocks for nozzles, there are well blocks for slide gate set, and tundish well blocks for tundish nozzles.

Depending to different demands, dimensions of the ladle well blocks are different. To match the well blocks tightly with purging plugs and nozzles, corundum chromite mortar are used to bind the purging plugs and nozzles inside the well blocks tightly.

Shape of the blocks: The ladle well blocks are generally produced via refractories casting, with stainless steel anchors inside the blocks. Raw material is generally tabular alumina / fused white alumina with pure chromite, castable is cast into certain mold and then it's baked under temperature 200-300 ℃ after demolding.

Function refractories for continuous casting steel is a kind of advanced refractories aimed for clean steel. With function refractories, molten steel flow is better controlled, and could be protected from Oxygen during casting.

Function refractories for steel continuous casting generally include refractories from steel Ladle to Tundish and Tundish to Copper Mould Tube.
