Bauxite clinker is bauxite clinker, which is made of bauxite by high-temperature calcination, and its ALO content should be greater than 50%. Calcination can be carried out in shaft kiln, downdraft kiln and rotary kiln, and the calcination temperature is generally 1400℃-1600℃. The specific calcination temperature should be determined according to the grade of bauxite.
In unshaped refractory materials, bauxite clinker is generally used to process refractory aggregate and powder. If it is used in important parts or thermal equipment that is in direct contact with molten steel and molten iron, high-quality high-alumina bauxite clinker should be selected as refractory aggregate and powder. The impurity content in the product shall not exceed 2%, and the amount of other brands mixed into the same brand product shall not exceed 10%, and foreign impurities such as limestone, loess, high calcium and high iron shall not be mixed.
Generally speaking, the bauxite clinker should be calcined well and must not contain underburned material, that is, its water absorption should meet the requirements. At the same time, clinker with low potassium oxide and sodium oxide content should be selected as much as possible, especially for smelting equipment. .
Uses of refractory bauxite:
1. Refractory bauxite is used in refractory products. High alumina bauxite clinker has a refractoriness of 1780°C, strong chemical stability and good physical properties.
2. Precision casting. The bauxite clinker is processed into fine powder and made into molds for precision casting. Used in military industry, aerospace, communication, instrumentation, machinery and medical equipment departments.
3. Refractory castable: magnesia and bauxite clinker are used as raw materials, and appropriate binder is added to cast the overall lining of the steel drum with good effect.
4. Manufacture of alumina cement
5. Abrasive material
6. Various compounds of aluminum can be produced in ceramic industry and chemical industry.
