Magnesite Bricks

Magnesite Bricks

Introduction of magnesite bricks products As an important refractory material, magnesia bricks are mainly composed of magnesium oxide (MgO) and are widely used because of their stable chemical properties and good physical properties. magnesite bricks are introduced in three aspects: quality index, shape and specifications, and firing process.

Products Description

Refractory material is an indispensable material in modern industrial production. It has the characteristics of fire protection, high temperature resistance, corrosion resistance, etc., and is very suitable for use in harsh environments such as high temperature, high pressure, acid and alkali. As a commonly used refractory material, magnesia bricks are widely used in iron, steel, cement, glass and chemical industries due to their fire resistance, corrosion resistance and wear resistance.

Quality indicators

The main quality indicators of magnesite bricks include specific gravity, refractoriness, flexural strength, hot and cold properties, permeability, thermal expansion coefficient, etc. Specific gravity refers to the density of magnesite bricks, generally between 3.0 and 3.5g/cm³. The greater the density, the higher the strength, and the higher the price. Refractory resistance refers to the heat resistance of materials in high temperature environments, usually above 1650°C. Bending strength refers to the resistance of a material in a bending state. This indicator reflects the toughness of the material and is generally required to be above 20MPa. Indicators such as thermal and cold properties, permeability, and thermal expansion coefficient are one of the important indicators for evaluating the performance of materials.

Shape and specifications

The shapes of magnesite bricks mainly include square, rectangle, trapezoid, cross, etc. Specifications are divided into different thicknesses according to thickness: 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 40, 50, 60, 70, 80, 90, 100mm, etc.; according to size, they are divided into 230×114×(10-25)mm or 300×300 ×(15-30)mm. Appropriate specifications and shapes need to be selected according to specific usage scenarios.

Firing process

The firing process of magnesite bricks is very particular. It is usually divided into two processes: shaping firing and ash reduction sintering. Among them, the ash reduction sintering process is a relatively advanced firing method and has the advantages of energy saving and environmental protection.

Main uses of magnesia bricks

Magnesite bricks have a wide range of main uses, especially in high-temperature environments such as furnaces, baking rooms, and industrial kilns. Specific usage scenarios include the following aspects:

1. Steel smelting industry: used in converter roof, copper cladding, blast furnace cooling wall, furnace wall, furnace roof and cylinder block.

2. Cement industry: used for the lining and protective layer of high-temperature kilns such as cement kilns, rotary kilns, and dry process kilns.

3. Glass industry: used in the lining of glass kilns, rollers and building glass melting furnaces, which can resist high temperature, high pressure and chemical corrosion.

4. Coking industry: used in coke oven coke melting tank, ground bridge, furnace wall and gas generator.

5. Fertilizer industry: mainly used in high-temperature synthesis reactor platforms, foam towers, hot gas furnaces, etc.

6. Electric power industry: used for lining boilers, flues, desulfurization and other equipment in thermal power plants, and can withstand high temperatures and acid and alkali erosion.

7. Other industrial fields: engine blocks, central air conditioning systems, steel furnace linings, boiler linings, anti-corrosion equipment, underground

laying, etc.

To sum up, magnesite bricks, as an important refractory material, have many excellent properties and are widely used in many harsh environments such as high temperature, high pressure, acid and alkali. Therefore, when selecting refractory materials, it is necessary to select appropriate specifications, shapes, quality indicators, firing processes, etc. according to specific circumstances to ensure that the materials can achieve optimal performance and service life.
