Alumina magnesium carbon brick

Aluminum magnesium carbon brick are made of alumina magnesia spinel, high quality magnesia, super-grade bauxite or corundum as aggregates, and phenolic resin as binding agent. Shaped under high pressure, they has great spalling resistance, excellent corrosion resistance, super high strength etc., are widely used for bottom, side wall of steel ladles etc.

 

Aluminum magnesium carbon brick is high thermal resistance product made of super high alumina bauxite or corundum sand, magnesia and flake graphite as the main raw materials. Regarding to it's features, besides high corrosion resistance and high spalling resistance because of existance of carbon, it also has the advantage of showing high residual linear expansion rate due to the formation of spinel when heated during use, so it has become a newly developed high-quality product as lining bricks. Chemical composition of alumina-magnesia carbon bricks generally is Al2O360%~69%, MgO7%~14%, C5%~12%. It has good slag corrosion resistance and thermal shock resistance, and a small amount of reheating expansion.

 

In order to improve its oxidation resistance, anti-oxidant additives such as Si powder, Al powder, SiC powder or ferrosilicon powder is appropriately added to the ingredients, and resin is used as binding agent, and bricks are shaped under high pressure. After shaping, bricks are dried in drying furnace under temperature 200~300℃, without being calcined. They are Mainly used for lining of large converters and ultra-high power electric furnaces, steel ladles, refining furnace linings etc.

 

Aluminum magnesium carbon brickhave the advantages of great corrosion resistance, peeling resistance, uniform corrosion, less pollution, less steel & slag sticking, easy removing etc. It is mainly used for working lining of the steel ladle under harsh conditions. The use of aluminum-magnesium-carbon bricks as linings of large capacity tundish in steel continuous casting, melting tank of refining furnace, and the bottom of the steel ladles are increasing highly in recent years.
